Architectural accessibility

We ensure that people using assistance dogs have access to all our buildings.

We partly ensure that people with special needs can be evacuated, as we have the necessary procedures and equipment in place (an evacuation chair or mattress).

  1. Statistical Office in Bydgoszcz, ul. Ks. Stanisława Konarskiego 1-3

The headquarters of the Statistical Office in Bydgoszcz is located in a building managed by the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship Office. Two parking spaces for people with a disability are available directly at the entrance to the building from ul. Ks. Stanisława Konarskiego.

The building is accessed via stairs and a wheelchair ramp on the right. Access to the building is fully paved with lowered curbs.

The main entrance to the building is located on ul. Ks. Stanisława Konarskiego. The entrance is equipped with sliding doors with motion sensors, allowing them to open automatically.

The beginning of the stairs is marked by a textured surface and a tactile warning area. A tactile guidance path leading to the entrance door is fitted, ending with a tactile warning area next to a typhlographic plan guiding visitors through the building’s entrance area. The tactile guidance path covers the lobby.

The building's reception is located to the right of the main entrance.

Information about the layout of the rooms is available on the information board and on the digital totem.

The premises of the Statistical Office are located in building C (on the ground floor, first floor and in the basement) and in building B on the seventh floor.

Buildings C and B are largely adapted to the needs of people with a disability. They have no thresholds that would hinder wheelchair access and are fitted with wide doors on each floor.

The buildings contain five passenger lifts fitted with sliding doors, which are accessible to people with a disability, including wheelchair users. Four lifts are situated in the main lobby of Building B, to the left of the main entrance. Two lifts (on the right-hand side) are fitted with voice announcements (stating the floor on which the lift is located) for blind and visually impaired people, and the buttons and numeric keypad feature Braille numbers and letters. These lifts are also fitted with NFC tags displaying a list of floors in Braille. The fifth lift is located in Building C – it can be accessed from the first floor.

The Customer Service Point, conference room and library are fitted with Braille signage on their doors. In the other rooms of the Office and throughout the building (with the exception of the lifts), there is no Braille signage, nor is there any high-contrast or large-print signage for blind and visually impaired people.

  1. Branch in Toruń, ul. Adama Mickiewicza 10-16

The building is managed by the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS), the Branch in Toruń

It is a detached, five-storey building with a partial basement. The main entrance is situated on the south-west corner of the building and also serves as an emergency exit (the second emergency exit is in the basement on the north side). A parking space for people with a disability is designated directly opposite the building’s entrance.

A wide flight of stairs leads to the main entrance, and to the left of the stairs there is a wheelchair ramp. The reception is situated on the ground floor to the left of the main entrance, opposite the stairs. To the right of the main lobby there is a ramp providing access to the lift.

The Branch occupies all the rooms on the second floor. The Branch’s rooms can be accessed from the main lobby via the stairs or the passenger lift, which is equipped with voice announcements, and the buttons feature numbers and letters in Braille. The customer service offices (the Statistical Information Centre and the REGON register) are located opposite the lifts (on the other side of the stairs).

There are no signs in Braille (apart from in the lift) or in large print for blind and visually impaired people in the building. Some of the glass doors are marked with yellow contrasting stripes.

There are two toilets in the building adapted for people with a disability: the first is on the ground floor to the left of the lift (it is not fully adapted; for example, it lacks an emergency call system). The second toilet (which is adapted) is on the second floor behind the lift.

  1. Branch in Włocławek, ul. Piekarska 16a

There is one main entrance to the building, located at ul. Piekarska 16a. There is one parking space for people with a disability (on the road lane) approximately 20 metres from the Branch building.

A narrow flight of stairs leads to the main entrance; there is no wheelchair ramp. The construction of a ramp is prevented by the narrow pavement, which cannot be widened as the building is situated in the historic part of Włocławek.

The building has four storeys. The Branch occupies premises on the ground floor and the second floor. Due to the building’s structural design (i.e. a narrow staircase), it is not possible to install a lift in the building.

The reception is located to the left of the main entrance. The customer service offices (the Statistical Information Centre and the REGON register) are located next to each other on the ground floor in rooms 002 and 004 (to the right of the reception).

The building is not adapted to the needs of people with mobility impairments (stairs, no lift) or blind and visually impaired people (there is no Braille or large-print signage in the building). The glass doors are marked with yellow contrasting stripes. A toilet adapted for people with a disability is located on the ground floor (to the right of the main entrance).

  1. Branch in Inowrocław, Aleja Niepodległości 4

The Branch in Inowrocław is located in room 122 on the first floor of the building managed by the Sports and Recreation Centre in Inowrocław. There is one main entrance to the building, situated at Aleja Niepodległości 4.

There are designated parking spaces for people with a disability in front of the building. There are no steps at the entrance to the building, and the entrance doors open automatically. The reception is located to the right of the main entrance. There is a lift to the right of the reception.

The building has three storeys above ground. The lift is not fully adapted to the needs of people with a disability: the doors are too narrow (80 cm), there is no voice announcement, and there is no signage for blind and visually impaired people (raised text, numbers or symbols, and Braille signage).

Contrast marking is used on the entrance and internal doors, as well as on the corridors and internal stairs. The toilet for people with a disability is located on the first floor (it is fully adapted and has an emergency call system).
