The Universities of the Third Age
The Statistical Office in Poznań invites you to take advantage of a free educational offer addressed to students of the Universities of the Third Age.
The aim of the lectures is to provide basic knowledge about public statistics, its resources, the principles of its operation, as well as the surveys conducted by statistical interviewers.
The educational offer includes the following lectures:
An interviewer comes to a senior – the specifics of a statistical interviewer's work: the importance and need for conducting survey research, the results of the interviewer's work, as well as conscious and safe participation in surveys (90 min.).
Information system of public statistics – information on the legal basis and organization of public statistics services: types and methods of conducting research, information resources, and methods of sharing and disseminating statistical data (90 min.).
The history of censuses in the Wielkopolska region – a statistical sketch of the region: presenting it through the perspectives of successive censuses conducted by the Statistics Poland (GUS). The long-standing history of censuses, allowing participants to find answers to basic questions: when and what do we census, and above all, for what purpose are censuses carried out? (90 min.).
Numbers do not always speak for themselves – examples and remarks on data analysis and presentation in various aspects: (45 min.).
The lectures will be conducted by the employees of the Statistical Office in Poznań at your facility, upon prior arrangement of the date and ensuring a minimum number of 10 participants.
An essential condition for conducting the meeting is equipping the training room with a multimedia projector and Internet access.
